Gentle Chiropractic Care for Children in the Poconos
Children grow fast, fall often, and adapt constantly. At Life is Good Chiropractic, we look at how a child’s spine is moving as they grow, helping support healthy development with gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic care in a calm, family-friendly environment.
Supporting Healthy Function, Alignment, and Movement as Kids Grow
From birth to backpacks to playground falls, kids’ bodies handle more physical stress than most people realize. Our approach to pediatric chiropractic care focuses on gently supporting spinal motion and nervous system function so children can grow, move, and adapt more comfortably.
Why Chiropractic Care Matters for Children
As children grow, their spines and nervous systems are constantly adapting. Because the nervous system coordinates movement, balance, and development, proper spinal motion plays an important role in how a child’s body functions day to day.
Chiropractic care focuses on identifying areas of misalignment and restricted motion in the spine, often referred to as subluxations. These areas can interfere with clear nerve communication and may affect how the body coordinates and responds over time. Supporting healthy spinal motion early can help promote better function as children develop.
Common Concerns Parents Notice
Children don’t always communicate physical strain in obvious ways. Rather than pain, parents often notice patterns that suggest their child’s body may not be functioning as smoothly as it could.
Infants & Toddlers
Digestive challenges such as constipation or reflux
Colic or excessive fussiness
Recurrent ear concerns
- Difficulty latching on to nurse
- Now crawling evenly
Older Children
Headaches
Postural imbalance
Sleep challenges or bedwetting
- Asthma or sinus issues
Just as cavities can develop without tooth pain, spinal imbalances can exist without clear symptoms.
A Comfortable, Kid-Friendly Chiropractic Experience
Checking a child’s spine and making adjustments is gentle and completely painless. For babies, the pressure used is no more than what you’d be comfortable applying directly to your own eye. Newborns and infants often sleep through their adjustments or relax deeply during care, with no popping or cracking sounds involved. Little ones are welcome to rest on a parent or in one of our special pillows, helping them feel safe and secure.
Older kids usually enjoy the experience too, especially climbing up onto our “Zeus the Zebra” table. Kid adjustments are always gentle and quiet (there’s no popping sound) and we take time to explain what we’re doing in ways kids understand.
Sometimes our doctors will even get down on the floor to meet a child at their level, play, and interact with them, often sneaking in an adjustment when they’re relaxed and comfortable. Everything is done at a pace that feels easy and natural for your child.
Our goal is simple: to make every visit calm, positive, and pleasant for both children and their parents.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why would a child need chiropractic care if they aren’t in pain?
Children often adapt to physical stress without showing pain. Chiropractic care looks at how the spine is moving and how the nervous system is functioning, even when no discomfort is present.
What are subluxations in children?
Subluxations are areas where spinal motion is restricted and nerve communication may be affected. These imbalances don’t always cause symptoms but can influence how the body coordinates and adapts over time.
How young can a child be checked by a chiropractor?
Children can be checked at any age, including infancy. Care for newborns and babies uses extremely light pressure (no more than what you’d be comfortable applying directly to your own eye) and is focused on gentle assessment, comfort, and safety.
How do you help kids feel comfortable during visits?
Children are welcome to rest on a parent or special pillow, and older kids often enjoy climbing onto the “Zeus the Zebra” table. Everything is explained in kid-friendly language, and the pace is always guided by comfort.
How do parents know if chiropractic care is right for their child?
Many parents choose chiropractic care to ensure optimal function of their child’s body as they grow and to better understand how their child’s body is developing. A gentle evaluation can provide clarity and peace of mind without pressure or obligation.
Does chiropractic care for kids hurt?
No. Checking a child’s spine and making adjustments is completely painless. Many newborns and infants relax or sleep during care, and older children often enjoy the experience.
